New year!- 2025

The stars watch keenly over their urban reflections called the city lights, In the distance, the dark mountain stands still, There is a stark contrast of a dark mountain- to a sky with stars and lit up flights, The dead trees cry leaves on the edge of the mountain, The mountain with hanging rocks that vow to kill, Rocks fall rippling waves through water, The perennial stream flows in its regular direction carrying the rocks, Slowly, waterflow scrapes the rock into a mere dissolving sand powder, The minerals from the rocks’ demise lead to some unadaptable fishes’ slaughter, The fish were un-evolving, afraid of change, Afraid to let go, Scorned in their last living moments while other fishes lived in adaptability to life’s expansive range. Change- as seen in a ticking clock and a beating heart, It can be responded to wisely but unnerves everyone at the start. As 2025 begins, acknowledge change and recognize change is not just around us- we are change. This poem was inspired by my trip to...
An icy death The forlorn shadows of the troubled leaves danced in the sun’s yellow light, As water stood placid, Even with the roar of the winds, For the top most layer of the water had frozen into dangerously thin ice,  A crack appeared as a fish hit the layer of ice, Slowly it all crumbled, Falling down sharply leading to a fish’s partial demise, As ice suddenly hit the bottom of the ocean floor, There came a shark, sea carnivore, It tore out the fish’s flesh before it could escape, Blood seeped into the water, As the fish was consumed whole. -Vidhi Dasani.

The Youth Leadership Conference (my experience)

I never imagined that I would get to live my dream. A dream I aimed for, growing up, watching movies where students would live their best life in college. I wanted to be like those main characters, living a life with their roommates, having friends to run the hallways with and feeling excited for what comes next. I am eternally grateful to have lived my dream. I am grateful to have gotten a taste of the dorm life before my college experience through this intensive but rewarding youth leadership conference. 14th July. The packing that I had weeks to do was done in one day or specifically in a few hours before we had to leave.  At around 1:30, we arrived at Texas Wesleyan University. It took us a few minutes to navigate to the registration desk, but then we made it. My parents helped me unpack and dropped me off at the dorm. I waited there for my roommate. Honestly, I was anxious to see who my roommate for 5 days would be because no matter how anyone else at the conference was, ...

A diary entry 🌷

Journeys of life are as unpredictable as the path of the leaves with wind. Truth being that all humans are distinctly dissimilar, yet they expense their souls and individuality to be alike. Rather than adorning being unique with crystals of love and gratefulness, we crave a similarity between us and those around us. It is time for us to discern possibilities of accepting ourselves, as vulnerable souls that we are, as souls that crave love, as souls that are welded with nature.   Life is a concatenated series of events. And I am thoroughly grateful for life and its irregularities, what is beauty without imperfection?  Recently in my life there have been a series of events that have shaped where I am now.  I write this with eternal thankfulness, and this is much like a diary entry I am penning down. We start about two months ago. 5th of July, 2023. Weeks and months leading up to the present have been thrilling, in all ways.  Waking up to know that I have only a fe...

🌸The cherry blossom 🌸

The cherry blossom -  Vidhi Dasani I heard the silence calling, Away as nature spoke in its beautiful words, As the wind made its way through the tangling forest, I listened to the mist on the trembling leaves, As the butterflies fluttered, Both in my soul and on the bloomed flowers that swayed with the wind, I listened to the water humming in monotonous tones, I felt the gentle wind brushing through my hair, I could see the everlasting greens with fog and mist in between, It was a beauty untold, I could smell spring in the air, The sweet smell of cherry blossoms with a touch of misty wind, I sat under the cherry blossom tree, ready to unwind. Beneath the auroral clouds, Listening to all the silent sounds. Stay safe and take care Xoxo, Vidhi :) follow me on insta- https://www.instagram.com/vidhi.dasani/
