Time, thoughts and ties.

Maybe passion is meant to be lost,
fire dying down,
washing away the soulful warmth,
Lament the loss of light that was once around.

Maybe some books are meant to be unread,
pages crystallise with thoughts not thought and words not said,
so the brain can create its own absolute resolution,
An excuse to stop reading and avoid what's truly ahead.

Maybe ties are meant to be temporary,
threads of connection either cut or slowly frayed,
eroded with time's dual nature,
Words die down unconveyed.

Maybe dreams are meant to be forgotten and ignored,
plans and ideas tucked away and stored,
until everything is distant,
Sailing on a lonely ship with nothing aboard.

Or maybe life is meant to be truly lived, not just be alive,

Fire sometimes flickers on and off, but it returns, and with that light arrives,
Excuses are sometimes realised and amended,
Cords of connection may revive,
And dreams can be freed from the archive of the mind.

I hope you liked this piece as much as I enjoyed writing it! :)
