world mental health day!

Hi guys!

I am sorry for not posting this yesterday, on World Mental Health Day. But better late than never!

Here are seven ways in which you can have better mental health!-

1. Gratitude spreads positivity. Be grateful!

-No one is perfect, I have my ups and downs too, but I always remember to take some time out in a day to just tell myself that I am doing a great job, to thank myself and everyone around me. We need to remember to give ourselves credit because no one else will.

It's important for us to remind ourselves how far we have come so that we can push ourselves to get farther.

2. Take a break with nature!

-Taking breaks and resting your mind is important, so take a refreshing break with nature, go on a walk in a park, interact with the soft winds outside, hear the leaves rustling and the birds chirping. Look outside your window, sit in your balcony or go down for a walk. Nature soothes one's soul and reduces stress. (If you want to know more about coping with stress, check out this blog!-https://vidhidasani.blogspot.com/2021/06/10-things-you-can-do-to-beat-stress-and.html)

3. Remember, You are unique in your own way!

-It's tough to keep up with the society, the beauty standards, it's tough to be perfect. So why do we have to be perfect? Think about it. The Society itself isn't perfect, it judges people too much. There is no reason for you to be "perfect",  and you need to realize that. You need to accept who you are. You need to remember that people are different and you are different in your own unique ways.

4. Reading keeps your mind engaged and stress-free, so what are you waiting for!

-Read books! Books not only help you in your imagination, they also help you calm down and keep your brain healthy. (I have 2 published books as well, you can read them online! Haunted- https://www.amazon.in/Haunted-vidhi-dasani-ebook/dp/B08B1TFH1S
The Inspiration- https://www.amazon.in/Inspiration-Vidhi-Dasani-ebook/dp/B08K7LF7FS)

5. Believe in yourself!

-You need to believe in yourself and know your worth. You are automatically confident if you believe in yourself. Be your own No.1 supporter!

6. Smile!

-Smiling increases endorphins, which help in making you feel positive and happy. It strengthens your immune system and also relieves anxiety. It also gives you a facelift, making you look more youthful. If you are reading this, it's a reminder for you to smile!

7. Guided Imagery!

-Guided imagery means imagining a place you would rather be at. Like imagining a sunset at the seashore or a sunrise in the foggy hills. This relaxes you and releases Serotonin! I want you to close your eyes right now and imagine your ideal dream place. Imagine you are there, breathe in and out, and relax.

SUMMARY-

thank you for reading this! I hope you have a great day/night! And remember to believe in yourself.

xoxo,

The Youth Leadership Conference (my experience)

I never imagined that I would get to live my dream. A dream I aimed for, growing up, watching movies where students would live their best life in college. I wanted to be like those main characters, living a life with their roommates, having friends to run the hallways with and feeling excited for what comes next. I am eternally grateful to have lived my dream. I am grateful to have gotten a taste of the dorm life before my college experience through this intensive but rewarding youth leadership conference. 14th July. The packing that I had weeks to do was done in one day or specifically in a few hours before we had to leave.  At around 1:30, we arrived at Texas Wesleyan University. It took us a few minutes to navigate to the registration desk, but then we made it. My parents helped me unpack and dropped me off at the dorm. I waited there for my roommate. Honestly, I was anxious to see who my roommate for 5 days would be because no matter how anyone else at the conference was, ...
An icy death The forlorn shadows of the troubled leaves danced in the sun’s yellow light, As water stood placid, Even with the roar of the winds, For the top most layer of the water had frozen into dangerously thin ice,  A crack appeared as a fish hit the layer of ice, Slowly it all crumbled, Falling down sharply leading to a fish’s partial demise, As ice suddenly hit the bottom of the ocean floor, There came a shark, sea carnivore, It tore out the fish’s flesh before it could escape, Blood seeped into the water, As the fish was consumed whole. -Vidhi Dasani.
